Written and performed by artist Nicole Tongue, The Kitchen Sink is a hilarious, heartbreaking, and semi-autobiographical play, featuring live music and dance, that looks at the pressures of family, friends, and the choices that shape us.
ABOUT NICOLE TONGUE
Nicole began her dance and choreographic career at the Royal Ballet School in London and went on to join The Birmingham Royal Ballet. During her time there, she created several works for the Company while working alongside internationally acclaimed choreographers and dancing in over 30 productions in 4 years.
Nicole then went on to study for 3 years at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and as a graduate has gone on to work in mainstream entertainment including the BBC, Radio 4, and the Globe Theatre.
In the ballet world, she created two full-length ballets: Unlock the Magic, which had its premiere at the Kimmel Centre in Philadelphia featuring 200 dancers, and Jane Eyre for London Children’s Ballet, premiering at the Peacock Theater, Sadler’s Wells featuring 50 dancers.
Nicole’s career in opera has taken her internationally with works performed in Boston, Buxton, Chicago, Glyndebourne, Geneva, Garsington, Grange Park, Houston, LA, Opera North, and Santa Fe. In 2020, Nicole was commissioned by the Connecticut Ballet Company and created the work The Family Visit.
